Job description

• Responsible for ordering and executing supply chain strategies in order to deliver quality products on time to meet production order start dates.
• Expedite material shortages as well as developing long term solutions to mitigate such shortages.
• Responsible for asset management (optimize inventory turns), material availability, supplier delivery reliability, non-conforming good returns, material scheduling/presentation to the receiving dock, issue resolution regarding shipment/invoice discrepancies, purchase price change, supplier development plans, etc.

Scope of Work/Tasks:

• Previous experience in make-to-order or engineer-to-order environment
• Experience with order placement, order management, forecasting, and order follow up techniques.
• Proven results with overall supplier management, ordering the right amount of product and ensuring it is in the right place at the right time.
• Must be familiar with supplier on-time delivery goals/metrics.
• At a minimum, experience with preferred sourcing models -suppliers stocking product to minimize lead time, consignment, vendor mgmt., etc.
• Complete understanding of inventory management.
• Experience with the coordination of supplier workshops to improve upon performance gaps.
• Familiar with commercial contracts, logistics agreements and quality agreements.
• Demonstrated ability to continuously improve processes.
• Cross-functional experiences with Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing.
• Familiar with supplier selection and qualification processes.
• Ability to work within highly integrated ERP systems.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in Purchasing.
• BS degree preferred in supply chain, logistics, business, or engineering but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven working experience in lean manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems.
• Familiarity with physical inventory processes.
• Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
• Data driven, solution minded.
• Demonstrated ability to take on project management ownership and execute on daily activities.
• Detail and results oriented.
• Excellent priority setting ability.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency. Great understanding of internal customers.
• Problem solver, entrepreneurial spirit.
• Proficient in MS Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities.
