Position Description:
The Human Resources Manager has the responsibility for associates, safety management, and training. The position has the authority for administering all phases of the human resources function including planning, coordinating, developing, implementing, evaluating, and improving processes and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provides customer service (i.e., payroll/ benefits, general employment inquiries).
- Assists with performance management, associate relations matters, and terminations.
- Devises programs for operational improvement (i.e., recognition, morale, safety).
- Conducts new hire orientation and other training/ educational sessions.
- Administers and facilitates defined policies, practices, and procedures.
- Facilitates accident/ legal investigations and prepares related documentation.
- Compiles reports for the Site Manager, and Corporate (HR/ Safety).
- Co-coordinates safety and risk management programs, and the Safety Committee.
- Performs recruiting & hiring functions (i.e., ads, events, interviews, selection, job offers).
- Verifies appropriate flow of applicants (i.e., HR interviews, information verification).
- Serves as the HR representative during Company unemployment hearings.
- Co-coordinates site events (i.e., Corporate, Customer, and Associate).
- Compiles legal and operational data (i.e., EEOC, funnel stats, communications).
- Enters and maintains employee information in SAP, Kronos, and Workday.
- Processes paperwork (i.e., New Hire, LOA, Termination/ COBRA).
- Maintains files (i.e., Associates, Safety, Orientation/ Training, ISO, 300 Log).
- Processes payroll/ time records, completes related reports, and distributes paychecks.
- Tracks employment related information (i.e., attendance and evaluations).
- Preserves security/ safety documents (i.e., confidentiality and contract).
- Ensures Associates have proper badge access to the facility.
- Follows ISO standards (i.e., forms, work instructions, procedures/ requirements).
- Responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- Performs all other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 5+ years of HR Manager experience
- Previous experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
- Success filling an array of lower to manager level positions in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for interactions with candidates, vendors, and individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Success in fast-paced environments working independently and on a team.
- Must have high sense of urgency, customer-service driven, and team player mentality.
- Dedication to continuous improvement in support of Plastipak core values.
