We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist I for our North Baltimore, Ohio Plant.
Essential Job Functions:
* Maintain confidentiality in all dealings.
* Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions relative to FMLA, STD and other benefits.
* Effectively communicate HR programs, services, and information in a positive manner.
* Prepare documentation and gather information for internal investigations and grievance process
* data analysis and reporting.
* Provide assistance to employees and management in resolving work related issues.
* Maintain accurate and current information in employee personnel files.
* Complete transactions for employee changes in status-among which include promotions, transfers and separations.
* Organize and maintain departmental files in an accurate and orderly manner.
* Coordinate all aspects of payroll processing, recordkeeping, and file maintenance including: addressing errors and concerns, garnishments, child support, court orders, deductions, paycheck distribution, documentation requests and verifications. Responds to state agency unemployment claims.
* Responsible to coordinate all aspects of hourly staffing tracking and fulfilment including: recruitment, review of applications, conducting interviews, reviewing selection with the HR Manager, coordinating drug screens and background checks, new hire paperwork, ADP processing, and filing are complete, placement, security/employee badges, and on-boarding, termination forms, and ECN's Employee Change Notices.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive demeanor, pro-active problem-solving skills, and continuous improvement, including: actively listening, responding, resolve issues, and communicating effectively and professionally with all associates and general public.
* Provide support to the HR Manager in all associate engagement and retention programs, appraisals, and activities. Assist in corrective actions, as required.
* Plan and Organize Employee events and activities
* Provides HR Manager with updates on day-to-day employee relation issues or other areas of the business. Assists in research, drafting, implementation, support, and administration of various HR programs, policies, handbook, and procedures.
* Assisting employees with daily questions and concerns with regard to attendance and vacations; and other program(s).
* Ensure the compliance with all local, State and Federal laws and statutes including labor laws and other governmental regulations that are directly applicable to the Company, providing timely reporting, information, and recommendations to the HR Manager.
* Assist in the development of employee meeting communications and actively participate in the meetings when required, including preparing materials, presenting benefit plan changes, providing support to associates during enrollment and with questions, and maintains related tracking.
* Maintaining employee record-keeping and personal information including: data entry and providing updates to employment status-change data, as necessary
* Routinely audit ADP Enterprise to compliance and make recommendations for corrections of unsatisfactory conditions.
* Ensures filing, scanning, copying, drafting correspondence and all other administrative duties are completed, as needed and/or assigned to others.
* Prepare and distribute announcements.
* Present benefits plans (new hire, open enrollment) to employees.
* Assist with establishment of departmental goals and support company strategic plans.
* Assist HR Manager in maintaining up-to-date job descriptions for all positions.
* Support IATF 16949 and ISO14001 auditing and initiatives.
* Follow safety rules and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
* Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
* HS Education Equivalent Required
* Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
* Two years of related Human Resources experience is required.
* Working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
* Working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations.
* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Flexible, team oriented and able to work independently.
* Strong organizational skills; excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
* Strong organizational, as well as oral and written communication skills required.
* Proficient experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
