Position summary

• The function of this position is to develop and maintain the information systems and technological needs of the company and to properly portray our professional image with our external and internal customers whether by phone, in person or in writing. This position is important to our company and the fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities contribute to our overall success.

Essential tasks of the position

General

• Maintain and develop sophisticated business applications.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to create detailed application specifications.
• Clarify and articulate the specific actions an application is intended to perform.
• Develop new applications and features as specified.
• Adjust and enhance existing applications and features as specified.
• Coordinate with external developers and consultants when necessary
• Conduct user-acceptance testing to ensure the application satisfies the design specifications .
• Collaborate with IT department administrators to ensure applications are properly deployed to the production environment.
• React to problems with existing applications by devising possible solutions and executing the appropriate solution.
• Evaluate application effectiveness and provide suggestions for adapting applications to support changing business requirements.
• Provide technical assistance and support for incoming IT Help Desk tickets related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
• Consult manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn new ways to develop applications and expand our company knowledge base.
• Perform duties and tasks as prescribed in company policies, procedures and work instructions.

Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience:

• 5+ years in application development
• 5+ years in relational database management systems
• 5+ years with enterprise software and system integrations

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of IT security best practices.
• Developing Windows Applications, Web Applications and Web Services using Microsoft Visual Studio or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of multiple programming languages, frameworks and tools including but not limited to C#, VB.net, Javascript and associated development techniques. (json , ajax, jquery ect)
• The ability to learn new programming languages, and the desire to learn and extend proprietary languages.
• Developing integrations and automations aimed at increasing operational efficiencies.
• Experience with code source control and application versioning.
• Relational Database Management System design and maintenance, specifically Microsoft SQL server.
• Experience writing Store procedures, Triggers, Views, Functions, Packages, and Advanced T-SQL Queries for Microsoft SQL server.
• Using the Microsoft SQL Agent for job scheduling and automation management.
• Experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) development and data warehousing concepts.
• Strong dashboard design experience and practitioner of effective data visualization using Tableau or similar business intelligence tools, with an emphasis on mobile device consumption.
