Job description

The Business System Analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to incentive plans, data feeds and web applications. The role is responsible for understanding and analyzing business requirements for specific business problems, translating business requirements into functional specifications, and verifying that solutions meet the requirements. This is done through research and fact-finding combined with a basic understanding of applicable business processes, systems, and industry requirements. The Business System Analyst will participate in all phases of a project including initial project planning, functional specifications definition and documentation, process analysis, estimating and implementation.

The Business System Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Liaison between the lines of business and the Development team
  • Analyzes business requirements to understand the business needs and to determine how an application or solution can best functionally fulfill those needs
  • Combine knowledge of what the business wants with knowledge of how the systems are built and used, in order to create functional designs across applications (This high level functional design is used by Business Analysts of all levels within the group as a basis for their low-level functional design)
  • Consulting and guiding on the delivery of applications and solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business users and write detailed requirements for the development teams
  • Experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with writing user stories, detailed requirements and user acceptance criteria.
  • Experience creating use cases, wireframes and visual mockups of web pages and report mockups and work iteratively with business users to create solid requirements
  • Experience creating Visio diagrams to capture interaction diagrams, process mapping

REQUIREMENTS - Education and Experience
  • Required 4-year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, information technology or HR compensation
  • Minimum 5+ years related work experience in a Business Analyst or similar role
  • Experience with Agile & working in Scrum teams
  • Experience with large scale environments is required
  • Ability to manage and track multiple technical projects to completion.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to motivate team members, facilitates change, and influences others.
  • Ability to interact with experts from multiple disciplines, both technical and non-technical.
