Job description

* Develop and coordinate expertise on thermal design issues involving all forms of heat transfer equipment across the organization
* Investigate engineering/process problems during fabrication, test and assembly operations and implements corrective action
* Review engineering designs for manufacturing feasibility and implement design changes to enhance production, reduce variation and improve quality
* Design and development of new products, including prototype development, from concept generation through to product launch
* Application of both new and existing technologies, materials and processes to deliver the optimum product design ensuring the establishment of excellent standards of performance
* Preparation of technical documentation in accordance with regulatory and design control requirements and with the company's product development process
* Create and maintain specifications, SOPs, process documentation, equipment selection and implementation
* Support the development of new products to support Limco to include: Brazing Alloy forms, various customer applications, flux coating of brazing products, Micro Fabrication of preform parts and non-brazing new product development which support product use
* Work closely with Project Managers on new products in development to meet the demand of our customers in a cost-effective manner
* Participate in Lean activities Kaizen events, 5S, 8D, Preventative Maintenance programs, root cause analysis, 5 Whys and other Lean tools to enhance productivity
* Review and provide guidance on non-standard or advanced heat transfer technologies offered by vendors or other parties
* Work with external customers and business management to define product requirements, and further refine those requirements into specifications over the course of the development process

* Assist the quality assurance organization in establishing proper quality metrics, required measurement tools, and the necessary control plans (statistical process control)
* Document all aspects of the production process, drafting work instructions, print plans, and other required ISO documentation

* Function as the technical/engineering representative on the customer-facing teams
* Manage trials, prototyping, and initial manufacturing runs for new products, working closely with production operators and floor management
* Prepare reports on material, product, or equipment performance for internal and external customers
* Support the transfer of new materials or processes from technology partners into a production environment
* Work with external customers and business management to define product requirements, and further refine those requirements into specifications over the course of the development process
* Troubleshoot heat exchanger issues

Requirements

* Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or relevant field of study.
* Minimum of 5 years well-rounded and progressive production experience in a complex OEM manufacturing environment is required
* Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment
* Effective written and verbal communications using electronic media and direct or phone contact with external and internal customers
* Detail oriented (high accuracy required)
* Analytical skills and disciplines in support of business planning, strategy development/deployment, relationship management and conflict resolution, with the ability to translate data into insights
* Achieve or exceed performance objectives for schedule, cost, and quality
* Establish individual KPIs and operations metrics and report on progress, achievements, and associated business results
* Demonstrable experience supporting lean/continuous improvement strategies and additional best-in-class manufacturing techniques to drive competitive advantage in quality, cost, and schedule.
* Due to ITAR Restrictions, US Citizenship or US Lawful Permanent Resident status is required.
