Job description

Responsibilities

The experienced incumbent works within Information Technology Applications performing a diverse range of responsibilities providing development services for large and complex systems. The incumbent has deep software development knowledge and skill set with flexibility to develop in a variety of technologies. Developer will perform analysis, technical design specifications, coding, software testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and will maintain softwaresolutions for large and complex systems and associated interfaces. Knowledge of software development life-cycle and ability to create technology solutions to business outcomes in a committed timeline. Mentors junior staff members in development and support procedures and IT departmental processes.

  • Proactively participates in business analysis and technical design activities with technical and non-technical stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure solutions are viable and consistent.

  • Creates technology solutions to meet business outcomes by defining and analyzing system requirements, designing and developing code solutions and automated unit tests and system documentation.

  • Recommends software improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimization.

  • Works closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts.

  • Accurately estimates the time needed to complete a variety of development and maintenance tasks.

  • Maintains oversight of team design and development practices to ensure team's solutions meet the development standards, are secure and follow best practices and mentors junior staff members in application development, technology stack and support procedures.


Requirements

  • Strong understanding of SQL, Data Modeling, C#/Java, JavaScript/React, Unit Testing, and Object-Oriented Programming concepts (SOLID).

  • Hands-on experience in technologies including HTML, CSS, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, Git, Microsoft Visual Studio/Eclipse, LINQ/Hibernate, jQuery, .NET Core.

  • Demonstrated experience working on development projects utilizing both Waterfall and Agile PLC methodologies.

  • Possess strong problem-solving and decision-making skills while using good judgment that provides solutions to business challenges

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Analysis or a related field preferred & 4-8 years' industry experience


Desired knolwedge, skills and abilities (KSAs)

  • Hands-on experience in technologies including Atlassian Suite, Visual Studio Code, Postman, ServiceNow, PL/SQL, React, ADFS, Azure, Visio, Castle Windsor, Telerik Controls, SOAP Web Services, XML, SVN, ASP.NET Web Forms, Jenkins, NuGet, Packages, API Development, Containers, Basic IIS Administration, SAP PowerBuilder, Microservices Architecture, and/or Basic Networking

  • One or more industry-recognized certifications such as Microsoft Solution Architect Certifications, Microsoft Developer Certifications, Oracle Developer Certifications, PMI Certifications, SAFe Certifications, and Scrum Alliance Certifications

  • Excellent presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with business partners, managers, directors, and developers.

  • Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Design Patterns, Domain-Driven Design, and Vertical Slice Architecture.

  • Understanding of how to apply secure coding principles to mitigate OWASP's Top 10 vulnerabilities
