DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: St. Charles Medical Group encompasses practices in three Central Oregon counties and numerous specialties including family care, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, immediate/urgent care, cardiology, pulmonology, rheumatology, general surgery, cancer care, and sleep medicine. We encourage collaboration between clinical and non-clinical staff to assure we are providing our community with comprehensive and compassionate health care.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Provider Recruiter for St. Charles Medical Group plans, develops and implements full cycle recruiting strategies for assigned clinics/departments with special emphasis on creating and maintaining a well-qualified and diverse pool of candidates in a timely and cost-effective manner. Advises and consults with hiring managers as it related to recruitment, develops a network of contacts in the community and industry and participates in ongoing initiatives to develop, integrate and improve the recruiting process for St. Charles Medical Group. This position does not directly manage any other Caregivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

  • Provides leadership in the recruitment and retention of talent into provider positions across multiple disciplines for St. Charles Medical Group. Responsible for full cycle recruiting, inclusive of creating and executing recruitment plans to proactively source candidates and meet assigned clinic/department needs.
  • Establishes and maintains ongoing relationships with hiring managers in order to understand the clinic/department and its recruitment needs; develops and maintains strong rapport with key leaders in the department and within St. Charles Medical Group administration; becomes knowledgeable of hiring managers department's business objectives, goals, operations and culture.
  • Determines and advises internal hiring managers about external market trends, effective interviewing, compensation, offers, etc.
  • Facilitates as a subject matter expert regarding the position approval process, candidate tracking system, posting, internal structure, etc. Provides guidelines, expertise and recommendations for job description creation, recruitment process and orientation/onboarding process.
  • Works with the department/clinic to develop a practice profile, identifies a sourcing strategy, determines the ideal candidate/credentials for the position, develops or revises the opportunity's advertising strategy/ad and coordinates the job approval process.
  • Proactively and aggressively recruits for well qualified candidates from a variety of sources; managing selection process to include interviewing, assessing candidates, screening and recommending finalist and filling the needs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Executes and manages strategies to source and recruit providers for the purpose of filling St. Charles Medical Group clinical needs, including direct provider engagement and agency-led recruitment efforts if required.
  • Develops, executes and manages sourcing strategies for each open position that include multimedia strategies such as digital, print, website, social media, etc.
  • Manages job appropriate pre-employment eligibility requirements, reference checks, etc., job postings, tracking of candidates, etc.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with recruiting and locum tenens agencies for the purpose of engaging high quality, third party recruiting resources if circumstances require.
  • Prepares compensation packages, extends offers, negotiates with candidates and facilitates the onboarding process for candidates with the Provider Resource Specialist.
  • Utilizes behavioral based interviewing techniques to screen and select candidates.
  • Researches and develops community and academic liaisons; develops applicant outreach programs and establishes viable applicant pools for future openings. Attends career fairs, conventions and community job fairs when appropriate. Actively participates as a knowledgeable ambassador for careers at St. Charles Health System /St. Charles Medical Group in the community. Makes presentations regarding employment at St. Charles Health System /St. Charles Medical Group to the community at appropriate venues.
  • Advises potential candidates, applicants and hiring managers regarding orientation, benefits, and compensation in relationship to recruitment duties. In coordination with the education team, trains hiring managers on recruitment process and behavioral based interviewing.
  • Analyzes hiring results, metrics and trends to manage performance of team and individuals. Produces accurate and useful reports for managers and system. Based on data, makes appropriate recommendations to enhance the recruiting process. Prepares and distributes recruiting and other related reports on recruitment activity.
  • Provides education and consultation services to hiring managers to achieve optimal recruitment goals.
  • Delivers customer service and/or patient care in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient and accurate.
  • Works in collaboration with the Director of Provider Services, St. Charles Medical Group's President, Chief Medical Officer, Clinical Division Directors and other leadership team members on an ongoing basis to review the medical group recruitment needs, provider contracts, definitive / provider-specific practice plans, and other strategic elements of provider engagement.
  • Builds and maintains constructive relationships with other St. Charles Medical Group and St. Charles Health System (SCHS) department leaders and caregivers to ensure effective system implementation and integration, including key relationships with St. Charles Health System medical staff services and payer credentialing staff.
  • Maintains and regularly reviews the current status of projects in progress to anticipate, identify, and resolve problems in a timely manner; communicates project status to all stakeholders and meets schedule and budget objectives.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Manages the recruitment process to ensure all EEOC guidelines are followed.
  • Supports the vision, mission and values of the organization in all respects.

  • Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests.

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent professional Recruiting experience preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

Required: Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to meet St. Charles Health System driving requirements. Ability to travel to business functions/trainings/meetings and all St Charles Health System worksites.

Required: Client relationship and business development experience

Preferred: Previous Recruitment experience, proven partnerships with providers in a professional setting
