Position Summary: The Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day accounting operations of the company to ensure scalable efficiency and accuracy in the finance function; works closely with cross-functional teammates to develop end to end processes that support rapid growth of the company; provides strong team leadership and drives continuous improvement of systems and processes; and delivers timely and accurate financial reporting to support strategic business decision making.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain accurate and timely financial reports, including internal management reporting, external monthly financial statements and annual audits.
- Assist in preparation of annual budget and monthly forecasts.
- Supervise and coach Staff and Senior Accountants.
- Oversee and streamline day to day transaction processing and month-end close activities, review general ledger account accounts and reconciliations.
- Develop accounting policies (i.e. revenue recognition, inventory accounting, lease accounting, etc.).
- Inventory accounting activities including balance sheet reconciliations, standard cost setting, inventory management, and related overhead absorptions.
- Partner with warehouse operations teams to continuously improve inventory cycle counts and inventory accuracy.
- Monitor cash position and cash forecasting.
- Implement, document and monitor effective internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure proper accounting of transactions, mitigate risk, and promote operational efficiency.
- Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local tax and business registration requirements.

Required Skills, Qualifications & Education:
- BA or BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field required; Masters of Accountancy preferred.
- CPA or CMA required.
- 5+ years of accounting/business experience and proven success in a high-growth company.
- Experience in a manufacturing and/or eCommerce retail business a plus.
- Expert level understanding of GAAP accounting and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to coach, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Continuous improvement mindset. Experience with LEAN processes a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite with advanced Excel skills.
- ERP system experience required; Specific experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus.
- Previous involvement in athletic programs a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Viewing computer monitors for extended periods of time.
- Talking, listening, and typing for extended periods of time.
