This role will be critical in establishing and refining corporate insights for the assigned markets. Supporting, Developing and maintaining summarized insights, by market, to help support the day to day management of our sales verticals and shape near-term strategic decisions. Develop succinct reporting around market growth trends, overlaying comparisons to Knauf performance that is digestible for multiple levels of the sales organization. Blend together key macroeconomic indicators to produce predictive analytics that will forecast market growth over a 12-18 month horizon. Participate in training and overview sessions to both educate and inform consumers of the insights to generate adoption and tool usage.
Responsibilities
- Provide insights into Knauf's business segments and investment strategies that will be key to gaining support for strategic future investment opportunities
- Lead and drive a data based perspective on market dynamics, identifying the trends in the landscape and their impact on KINA
- Contribute / oversee the maintenance of KINA's economic repository or Data Lake, identifying additional data streams for incorporation into new or existing models to enhance outputs and accuracy of predictive models
- Develop reports on provided platforms that summarize key trends, providing context and graphical summaries for all levels of the organization. Allow easy, intuitive filtering by constituents for a self-service approach
- Develop predictive statistical modeling that leverages data from multiple sources in order to solve complex business problems and operationalize outcome POV driven by analytics
- Help facilitate game theory sessions, finalizing decision trees and other analysis to determine most likely competitive response(s) to KINA actions, helping drive decisions that lead to best outcome
- Model industry demand, capacity / utilization to provide and informed position on impact of changes in capacity (additions / deletions) specific to channel purchasing decisions and price impact
- Support the corporate initiatives with problem solving horsepower and strategic frameworks / thinking needed to achieve objective. Execute prioritized strategy projects independently with limited guidance with a bias towards action
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with key personnel and functional teams within KINA that support or represent assigned markets
- Constantly strive to improve and keep current on technologies and trends in the data science field, using knowledge to continually refine and advance KINA capabilities around corporate insights
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, Market Modeling or Economics,
- Ability to seek and synthesize information into a coherent and powerful strategy.
- Proven leadership and team development capability.
- Quantitative and analytical skills. Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, Think-Cell or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to influence without direct authority.
- Assertive team player that plays to win; enthusiasm and tenacity to carry out difficult tasks to the end.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change.
- Outstanding relationship-building skills and skilled communicator. Strong facilitation skills.
- Fluent in Python (pandas, dask, panel, matplotlib, numpy, seaborn, scikit, Jupyter Notebooks, Keras) or R (tidyverse, tidymodels, shiny, R Markdown).
- Understanding basic concepts of software and program development.
- Understand the process of realizing a problem, designing hypothetical solutions, developing proof of concepts, and launching outputs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
