Job purpose

The Trimming Specialist will be specifically tasked with receiving the product and manicuring the flowers for proper appearance. In this role you will work to efficiently trim cannabis plants, while creating minimal waste, resulting in a high-quality product that is compliant and ready for sale or processing. This person will be responsible for maintaining and following cultivation procedures. Also responsible to properly record the weight of all product and mark it down for input. This is a seasonal position with the potential to stay in a permanent position.

This position will require you to travel to Huntington, OR for certain operations.

Duties and responsibilities

• Breakdown flowers from stem and stalk of plant to separate unusable waste from useable product

• Track the amount of unusable waste for each plant/batch

• Track the amount of usable by-products Demonstrate proficiency with weights, measurements, and math

• After breakdown of plant, employee must identify and separate fan leaves, stems and sugar leaves on the flower

• Must account for each by-product type processed off the flower; adding stems and fan leaves to "waste" for proper tracking

• Must exhibit competency in basic organizational, tracking and communication skills

• Must be able to work well independently, as well as in a team setting

• Must be able to adapt to various strains, styles and types of marijuana they are trimming; adjusting their techniques to maintain a steady pace and quality.

• Must manage their time during work efficiently to meet goals while consistently producing quality product

• Must be able to follow basic instructions, so they can help maintain quality standards and production goals

• Assure daily compliance with Company policies including but not limited to: state/local regulation compliance, security protocols, access protocols, dress code, and work schedules

• Must be able to learn and use computer programs as required

• Proficient in operating and maintaining trimming machines

• Must maintain good personal hygiene while processing marijuana

Qualifications

Trim experience preferred

Must have accuracy and consistency while trimming and weighing products

Must be able to follow directions and learn different growing methods

Displays personal drive, motivation, and perseverance to identify and fill needs

Must be able to work effectively both independently and in a team setting

Must be able to complete numerous manual labor task in a timely manner

Communicates effectively and able to work with other staff members

manage multiple demands through strong organizational skills, efficiency, and prioritization

Attention to detail

Ability to be flexible in the workplace and work multiple positions

Ability to work as a team, and work well with others

Must have the ability to take and follow instructions

Must be honest, courteous, and respectful to fellow coworkers and superiors alike

Must be able to work some weekends and holidays

Working conditions/ Physical Requirements

• Must have the ability to reach at or below/above shoulder level on a continuous basis

• Must be able to work in an environment which requires both indoor and outdoor work while at times weather changes will occur (may be hot, cold, or windy)

• Must be able to handle somewhat stressful environment and maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with daily tasks

• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, walk, reach with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching and climbing

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, often lift up to 25 pounds, and constantly lift up to 40 pounds

• Ability to see at close and distant ranges, as well as peripheral vision to notice safety hazards

• Ability to do tedious work with hands, like using small trimming scissors

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
