JOB SUMMARY

The Offices of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions and Financial Aid at Marymount University serve as the hub of activity and point of first contact for the university for thousands of prospective students and families. The admissions and financial aid teams in these departments are responsible for generating, processing and reviewing over 7,000 admissions applications and about 12,000 financial aid applications per year.

Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Operations and working in close collaboration on a daily basis with all department directors/AVPs throughout the Enrollment Management Division, the Business Analyst is responsible for administering all activities in the graduate and undergraduate admission offices related to database management, information systems and data analytics in support of strategic data-driven decision-making. The Business Analyst will also support Marymount's Financial Aid Office during key times of the year in the University's enrollment cycle.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support annual financial aid setup by providing data to external consultants to assist in the development of a financial aid packaging strategy and programming Ellucian's Colleague to automate that packaging strategy.
  • Troubleshoot issues with Financial Aid processes and work with partners in Administrative Information Systems to resolve those challenges.
  • Informs management on progress decisions and department key performance indicators.
  • Develops, coordinates, tracks, and manages projects for a variety of simultaneous initiatives of varying sizes.
  • Serve as the team's subject matter expert responsible for admissions process and systems.
  • Documents and tracks project changes, risks, and issues through resolution.
  • Regularly meets with stakeholders to identify and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • develop and deliver documentation and training to end users as it relates to the technology used by the Admissions & Aid team.
  • Communicates changes to requirements and projects to all stakeholders.
  • Reports on enrollment trends and makes recommendations.
  • Provides statistical analysis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree

Experience

5-7 years of business analysis experience; experience working with a student information system including writing queries, troubleshooting processes and writing rules

Licenses or Certifications

None.

Financial Responsibility

Processes or records financial transactions within established guidelines and safeguards. Reviews and/or approves financial transactions at the function or department level. May require some interpretation of policies. Makes financial decisions within University or accepted accounting guidelines, including review of financial reports, purchasing decisions, contract review/negotiation, etc.

Supervision

None.

Special Knowledge

2-3 years of Project Management Preferred
