Arkema affiliates operating in the U.S. include Arkema Inc.; Bostik, Inc.; ArrMaz and Coatex Inc. They operate 43 sites, including 37 manufacturing facilities, and employ 3,600 people in the U.S. Arkema is a world-class producer of specialty materials including acrylic monomers, adhesives, emulsion systems, fluorochemicals, fluoropolymers, functional additives, hydrogen peroxide, specialty polyamides and thiochemicals.

The Maintenance Mechanic works out of the Birdsboro, PA manufacturing facility. This is primarily a 1st shift role with expected 2nd shift and weekends ONCE per month each.

Wage: $34.45/hr to start plus $.75 for 2nd shift.

Sign-on bonus: $5,000

Shift: 8hrs each shift

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Maintain reliability and functionality of all mechanical equipment and processes utilized in manufacturing and laboratory operations.

  • Perform all preventative maintenance tasks as required to maintain equipment dependability.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform required tasks to maintain equipment operational status.

  • Conduct building repairs, painting, and other facility needs.

  • Analyze and repair electrical power failures within operating processes; performs backup services for the C&I Mechanic.

  • Comply with all technical, quality control, product, manufacturing, and safety procedures and instructions, associated with plant operations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Practical experience of at least five (5) years as a Maintenance Mechanic in an industrial atmosphere such as oil refinery, energy generation, chemical manufacturing or similar is required.

  • Capability to follow written procedures.

  • Communication and personal interaction skills.

  • Must have physical dexterity in climbing stairs, ladders, and handling the manual requirements of all Maintenance operations.

  • The Mechanic "A" is required to operate powered industrial trucks, including the high reach, scissors lift, and skid loader units.

  • Must exhibit safe work practices. Must be available to work overtime assignments as required.

  • Experience and proficiency in the following areas is required: Installation and maintenance of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, gear reducers, hydraulics systems, rotary airlocks, positive displacement blowers, belt and other chain driven equipment; welding, (piping, supports, and framework); pipefitting; equipment diagrams; rigging and equipment installation; valve packing and gasketing; 480VAC/3 phase circuits and motors, control and instrumentation theory, low voltage circuits including AC and DC.
