MSA is looking for a strong Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to provide HR expertise within their corporate facility in Cranberry Twp, PA. This role provides expert level HR support to management and employees of various technical and non-technical disciplines and is responsible for employee relations, policy interpretations and improvements, change initiatives, hiring, training, and compliance. Responsibilities:
  • Provide organizational consultation and HR needs assessment to management in all functional areas of HR, utilizing other internal/external HR subject matter experts as appropriate, such as Compensation, Communications, Benefits, Talent Management, HRIS, etc.
  • Work with OPEX leaders to develop and implement HR plans and solutions to achieve strategic business initiatives and deliver results.
  • Review, investigate and respond to all levels of employee relations concerns. Provide employee relations counseling to assist manager and associates in the resolution of employee issues.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations toward disciplinary actions to ensure consistent application of plant rules of conduct and disciplinary action for hourly associates .
  • Administer restructuring and headcount adjustment activities. Coach management and associates on organizational design/change initiatives.
  • Advise managers and associates on development efforts regarding career development, performance management and succession management coaching.
  • Guide the recruiting function, including developing position requirements, evaluating and approving requisitions,interviewing candidates, and act as back up to conduct new hire orientation or other onboarding activities in partnership with MSA's Corporate recruiting function. .
  • Research and respond to general HR-related inquiries including time and attendance, pay, and benefits.
  • Provide oversight and partner with local EHS Specialist and Occupational Health Nurse or third-party administrators on workers compensation, disability leave management, FMLA, etc. Uphold MSA's commitment to safety through participation in and support of safety programs.
  • Champion employee engagement activities, including supporting management efforts resulting from the Global Employee Engagement Survey project plans.
  • Facilitate HR programs and initiatives and serve as the HR subject matter expert for the business functions. Assist with the design, conduct, and ensure effectiveness of training programs.
  • Review, develop and propose HR related policies and serve as HR team member or lead on various projects.
Qualifications:
Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
  • Deep subject knowledge of HR functions, regulations, processes, policies and guidelines with demonstrated ability to partner with business leaders to develop innovative and workable solutions to support business needs
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated decision making skills to gather and compare information, considering the perspective of others, in order to determine the best course of action
  • Success at coaching and developing managers, peers, or others in the organization
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at helping others to understand, accept, and sustain change efforts to achieve desired outcomes without unnecessary disruption
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships within and external to the organization
  • Demonstrated project management skills
This position is available at two different levels:
Education and experience required:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in HR, business or related field (four years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree)

Level I:
  • 3 or more years HR related experience
  • or 5 or more years HR related experience and related Associate's degree
  • or 7 or more years HR related experience and relevant certification
Level II:
  • 5 or more years HR related experience
  • or 7 or more years HR related experience and related Associate's degree
  • or 7 or more years HR related experience and relevant certification
Education and experience preferred:
  • Knowledge of Kronos time and attendance and SAP HR
  • HR experience supporting a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in safety, benefits and other HR functions
  • Master's degree in related field or MBA
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification
