GeoDecisions is currently seeking applicants interested in joining the team as a Transportation Business Analyst.

We are seeking motivated individuals with experience in state, federal, or local government Departments of Transportation (DOT) projects who is located near one of our offices including Camp Hill, PA; Richmond, VA; Raleigh, NC and Tallahassee, FL. We are seeking someone with excellent communication skills that demonstrates experience with modeling and documenting complex business processes and eliciting business requirements, modeling business process, compiling use cases and user stories, and supporting the design of workflows and operations. A successful candidate must demonstrate real project experience with DOT business units and enterprise systems.

Must thrive in a high energy environment, excel at working without significant supervision, be independently motivated, outgoing, diplomatic, detailed, schedule driven and accountable.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in requirements elicitation with client to define needs
• Document As-Is environment and business workflows
• Model business processes
• Support the compilation of To-Be environment and business workflows
• Participate in agile and waterfall software development lifecycles
• Author requirements, design, and training documentation
• Support training materials and support training class delivery based on varying client needs
• Work in multi-disciplinary project teams made up of software developers, business analysts, GIS analysts, technical managers, and business subject matter experts
• Participate in project team meetings with client mgmt. and other contractors
• Document meeting minutes, draft business needs assessments, and perform gap analysis
• Resolve problems within working teams and with clients
• Compile user stories with the requisite details and acceptance criteria
• Develop and execute test cases to confirm system requirements
• Generate mock-ups, wireframes, or related graphics to illustrate requirements or workflows
• Work with developers to clarify requirements throughout the application development process
• Participate in business development and proposal development activities

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4 year degree, B.A., B.S.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in business operations and workflow analysis, training, client relations, public speaking, technical writing and/or project life cycle documentation
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working directly for or as a consultant to a state, federal or local government DOT agency.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills
• Excellent written communication
• Experience with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience building test cases to confirm requirements

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems and/or Enterprise Asset Management System projects and/or operations
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or other agile certification
• Project Management experience
• Familiarity with GIS and/or geospatial technology
