Job description

Strategy & Operations in Center for Analytics & Insights (CAI) is looking for passionate individual who wants to leverage the power of analytics and story-telling to measure business values generated from Data Science & Machine Learning (DSML) solutions. In CAI, we are organized with DSML labs to generate and maximize our business impact through the delivery and implementation of the most relevant and meaningful DSML solutions across the enterprise, in close partnerships with business stakeholders. Each lab is comprised of dedicated data scientists, ML engineers, data engineers, application engineers, product owners and scrum masters. The individual will work closely with senior product owners and data scientists to translate complex DSML solutions into actionable business insights and build the value measurement framework.

In this role, the DS business analyst will do following:

  • Develop, maintain and improve business value calculation method and framework of DSML solutions and AI models.
  • Identify data driven insights and trends by synthesizing multiple DSML capabilities and running analyses. Engage with internal CAI partners to understand DSML solutions, translate them into actionable business insights.
  • Work closely with product owners and DSML teams to develop DSML business cases.
  • Prepare and deliver visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business partners to implement.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous working environment
  • Undergraduate degree in math, stats, finance, economics, or related field
  • Python and SQL skills
  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)


Core Responsibilities

1. Engages with internal partners to understand business strategy, questions and goals. Brings structure to business requests, translates requirements into an analytical project approach, and leads projects through completion. Delegates tasks and provides tactical and strategic guidance to peers.

2. Acquires and compiles structured and unstructured data and verifies its quality, accuracy and reasonableness.

3. Performs analyses of historical data to surface trends and insights using advanced analytical methods. Validates analytical techniques employed by other analysts.

4. Prepares and delivers visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business partners to implement.

5. Develops, owns and manages recurring analytic or reporting processes.

6. Mentors, coaches, trains, and develops junior data analysts. Proactively expands knowledge of business and analytics and shares with team members. Shares and documents best practices.

7. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
