Job description

Position eligible for a Retention Bonus in the amount of $1,000 (less applicable withholdings and deductions). Bonus to be paid out after successful completion of six (6) months of employment with Purolite. Employee must be actively employed at the time the bonus is paid out. Only candidates hired into the role externally are eligible for the retention bonus.

Shift:
5:30pm-6:00am
4 days on, 4 days off - 12 hour shifts

Basic Function:
Performs duties in quality control laboratory using electronic and mechanical instrumentation and wet method analysis.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Performs in-process and final product analysis on materials produced or processed in the plant according to established procedures and specifications
• Records results on appropriate quality sheets
• Maintains daily quality control log books
• Performs analysis on incoming raw materials
• Performs selected analysis on finished products received from other branches of the corporation
• Maintains lab in an orderly manner
• Substitutes for absent workers
• Reports out of specification material to the quality control senior technician as soon as result are made available
• Packages retained samples, assist in maintenance of sample storage area
• Assists senior technicians with non-routine analysis
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

High school graduate or GED equivalent

Experience Requirements:

Minimum one year industrial experience or two years of college courses in physical science. Chemical laboratory experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

Basic math skills. Computer literate with advanced writing skills. Has the ability to initiate tasks and work in an independent manner. Must be able to communicate with visitors, professional and plant personnel. Ability to work with limited supervision.
