TITLE: Talent Acquisition Specialist

DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Philadelphia Zoo HR Manager, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full cycle recruitment and onboarding at the Philadelphia Zoo, including placement of seasonal and full-time positions. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is a front-facing role within the organization and acts as a primary liaison with internal clients while filling vacancies. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will support all facets of the Human Resources Department and contribute directly the advancement of organizational culture through personal commitment and expertise, along with exceptional talent acquisition and onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement overall recruiting strategy for staff
  • Develop and update job descriptions, job specifications, and compensation
  • Perform job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives
  • Prepare and post job opportunities to appropriate job boards/colleges etc., including internal bargaining unit job postings
  • Source and attract candidates by using databases, social media etc.
  • Screen candidates resumes and job applications
  • Conduct interviews using various reliable personnel selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule
  • Assess applicants' relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes
  • Establish, nourish, and maintain diverse talent pipelines.
  • Manage new-hire orientation process including scheduling and facilitation
  • Onboard new employees in order to become fully integrated
  • Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices
  • Provide analytical and well documented reports to the rest of the team
  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
  • Process new hire paperwork
  • Promote company's reputation as "best place to work"
  • Support Human Resources events and other staff and volunteer engagement activities
  • Provide hiring managers a strong slate of diverse candidates.
  • Work with a sense of urgency and prioritize changing assignments.
  • Fill open positions quickly and track candidate activity thoroughly.
  • Maintain strict compliance when working with confidential information.
  • Be creative and analytical in a problem-solving environment.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of recruiting experience
  • Proven recruiting experience with diversity and inclusion
  • Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews (structured, competency based, etc.)
  • Hands on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference check, etc.)
  • Familiarity with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and CMS
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong decision- making skills
