Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is currently seeking a full-time HR Generalist to join our team!
The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with the HR Director to support the overall HR functions of the Medical Center. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, tracking employee performance/training, benefit/compensation support, employee relations, policy implementation, and record retention.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
* Administers various HR plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies/procedures manual
* Maintains HR information systems, records and compiles reports from database; Maintains employee personnel files.
* Works with HR Director to administer the compensation program; monitors performance evaluations; works with HR Director in reviewing and updating job descriptions as necessary.
* Plays a role in the Benefits Administration process. Actively communicates benefit eligibility and information to new and current employees. Meets with new hires upon eligibility to discuss benefit options and means of enrollment.
* Responsible for coordination of payroll processing; follows-up with employees regarding questions related to payroll.
* Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel (internal and external), works with department managers to conduct interviews; completes the onboarding process; conducts new employee orientation; inputs new hire information into the electronic HR management system; writes and places advertisements (newspaper, website, job boards, etc.) and attends job fairs as a means of recruitment.
* Maintains current and up-to-date list of all credentials/licenses and primary source verifications, ensure background checks are current and up-to-date.
* Maintains all education records and administers the Medical Center's mandatory educational requirements.
* Administers the Medical Center's tuition reimbursement program, schedules seminars and tracks approvals and expense reimbursements, and makes other travel arrangements.
* Completes requests for employee verification information timely and in compliance with Medical Center standards.
* Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
* Monitors and updates the Medical Center's Labor & Employment boards in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws.
Skills and Abilities
* Critical thinking, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to work in stressful environment and take appropriate action.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize actions to quickly resolve issues.
* Understanding of labor and employment laws.
* Strong computer skills, ability to utilize multiple systems/programs; experience in using Kronos and HRMS.
* Exceptional customer service and ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with staff members.
Education
Required: Associate's Degree or post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
Experience
Required: Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Human Resources with progressive responsibilities
Preferred: Direct experience in health care environment
