Job Summary:

RCM's client is a community-based credit union located in the Greater Philadelphia area since 1934. The client is also a full-service financial institution that offers a banking alternative to its customers. Anyone from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia Counties is eligible for membership. The credit union manages over $1.1B in assets across its 70,000+ members. The client also offers a full benefits package, including 401(K) company match, pension, and a competitive compensation plan.

The client's Information Technology organization is looking to expand its internal operations team with the addition of a Business Systems Analyst who will be expected to be technical, able to be hands on, lead people on occasion, and be part of promoting the client's team first/achievement/results ownership culture throughout the organization.

The Business/Systems Analyst will be responsible for various technical and business analysis and to document business processes and project requirements that are integrated with technology to achieve business value and efficiency.

Additional responsibility includes providing IT support and workflow processing in support of a variety of business functions. The chosen candidate will be expected to maintain positive user relationships within the work environment through continuous improvement in technology and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (with estimated time allocations):

  • Provide technical assistance and help desk support to users by identifying and resolving problems, researching answers, and providing long term solutions. This includes but is not limited to hardware and software problems related to the credit union's network connectivity, core banking operations, telecommunications, and other credit union systems. (20%)
  • Responsible for regularly scheduled IT Operational functions relating to the Symitar Episys Core banking platform. Systems include but not limited to Optical/Imaging, Voice Response/IVR, Reporting and Analytics Warehouse and Card Issuance to ensure the highest possible availability and service to the members. (20%)
  • Responsible to work with all levels of management in the documentation of technical requirements pertaining to new initiatives. Assist with the planning, managing and execution of projects involving IT resources. (10%)
  • Responsible for maintaining the Disaster Recovery Plan and Testing as it relates to the services, software, hardware, and communications equipment within a specific technology discipline. (10%)
  • Identify ways to re-engineer manual processes to leverage automation to maximize efficiencies and the benefits of economies of scale. (10%)
  • Manage core systems operations and monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly computer operation. (10%)
  • Configure, test, upgrade and/or install new hardware and software as defined by the Strategic Technology Plan. (5%)
  • Responsible for collaborating with peers to organize and prioritize new tasks within the daily checklist. Develop and update procedures relative to all functions performed within the department. (5%)
  • Assist with managing Service Bureau responsibilities to ensure alignment of credit union expectations, which includes task and priority assignment and review of all work performed. (5%)
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. (5%)

Performance Measurements:
  • Ability To carry out assigned responsibilities with minimum number of errors according to established department standards.
  • To troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquires in a timely, informed, and accurate manner.
  • Remain relevant through ongoing training, technology awareness and incorporating for efficiency/effectiveness.
  • To develop and maintain internal standards and controls in compliance with credit union policies and procedures.
  • To maintain and extend knowledge in areas of application design to ensure credit union does not encounter technical inefficiencies.
  • To maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
  • To keep management informed of key operational issues affecting the department.
  • To provide informed, friendly, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and employees.
  • Adhere to FCU and department core service standards.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
Three years to five years of related experience. Prior Symitar Episys/EASE software experience is preferred or five years of other related core banking systems experience.

Education
Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field) preferred. Extended work experience may be substituted for degree or certification.

Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

Other Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective work relationship.
Ability to communicate, plan and organize effectively. Knowledge of computer operation systems (i.e.MS Windows, MS Office, SQL).
Strong knowledge of computer operating practices and techniques coupled with internal Computer Operation policies and procedures.
Thorough knowledge of current developments and innovations in the computer field.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of project management.
Flexibility for off-hours support and on-call duties.
Responsible for understanding, adhering to, and complying with Bank Secrecy Act requirements and the Credit Union's Bank Secrecy Act policies and procedures.
Responsible for reporting suspicious activity to the proper authority in accordance with the Credit Union's Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:
  • Essential functions of this position are carried out in a variety of positions including standing and sitting.
  • Additionally, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects and/or controls.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or bend. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
