The Rhode Island Eye Institute is a physician owned multi-specialty eye care practice with three offices in Rhode Island and one in Massachusetts. Providing high quality care to our patients is our number one priority and we are building a team that is passionate about continuous improvement.
In this role, you will "own" the front desk function for both Ophthalmology and Optometry visits at our main Providence location. This includes ensuring a smooth and efficient flow so all patients have a positive experience as they move through the check-in, scheduling and check-out process.
You will be responsible for the direct supervision and leadership of up to 10 team members. This role requires a candidate who relishes the opportunity to mentor and train team members to provide exceptional service to our patients.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Managing staff schedules to match daily patient volume.
· Monitor provider schedules to identify issues and concerns before they occur (overbooking for example)
· Mastering of the newly installed practice management software (Modernizing Medicine) to leverage all capabilities.
· Overseeing daily workflow, adjusting as needed to maximize efficiency and minimize patient wait time.
· Manage incoming appointment referrals ensuring we respond timely and appropriately.
· Coach staff members on the provision of exceptional customer service.
· Maintain Paid Time Off schedules for direct reports.
· Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
· Other duties and projects as assigned.
Desired skills and experience:
· Two years' experience in a leadership role including direct supervision of others
· Healthcare experience preferred but not required
· Must possess appropriate computer skills, preferably with internet cloud based systems in the medical field (electronic medical record and practice management systems)
· Must be familiar with Microsoft Office suite of software include Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.
· Strong customer service and commination skills.
· Ability to adapt to the situation and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
· Desire to "build" rather than "maintain"
