THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
The primary focus of this position is to provide support to 4 finished goods warehouses & 2 operations departments (400 hourly associates). Leads the recruiting, hiring, and separation of employees. Maintains contacts within the community and may travel periodically from warehouse to warehouse to provide HR Support. Position reports direct to the HR Director. No direct reports.
- Serves as the primary recruiter and employee relations for Warehouses and some large indirect departments
- Confer with senior leadership to identify headcount needs and workforce planning strategies
- Use analytical skills to perform statistical analysis of the recruiting process (i.e. cost per hire, utilization rates, time to fill, accounting, billing rates, ratios, gross margins, etc.)
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the leaders within the complete Orangeburg operation, as well as with vendors and other team members.
- Develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified leaders
- Serves as the first point of contact in these departments for all HR related employee relations issues
- Stays current with legal and regulatory changes related to employment law
- Assists in the development, implementation, maintenance, and delivery of processes for staffing and recruiting services
- Leads employment verification (E-Verify and I-9s) and background check processes
- Prepares, plans, and executes the New Hire Orientation process and ensures smooth on-boarding of new employees.
- Assists with programs, procedures, and plans used in carrying out human resource policies
- Assists with Service Recognition Awards luncheons and Meet / Greet
- Develops a pipeline of key talent potentially available for immediate hire as succession planning needs dictate
- Collaborates with Staffing coordinators to identify key material handlers and indirect labor talent
- Conducts Employee investigations
- Assists in talent review process for high potential hourly associates and training opportunities
BACKGROUND PROFILE:
- Bachelors degree in Business or Human Resources from a four-year college and minimum of 5 years related HR experience in a Warehouse / Manufacturing setting
- Strong employee relations background
- Strong recruiting experience
- PHR certification is a major plus
- Effective leadership skills including the ability to build and influence relationships throughout all levels of the facility
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks and work independently with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
