Cornerstone Private Asset Trust Company, LLC, is a boutique trust company that helps businesses and individuals implement estate planning goals and transition wealth from one generation to the next. We provide services above and beyond those of a traditional trust company by focusing on the individual nature of each client and their long-term goals. With offices in Sioux Falls, SD and Bloomington, MN, Cornerstone provides unique tax advantages to its clients as well as a wide variety of specialized trust services, including trusts under wills as well as dynasty, charitable, revocable living wills.
Primary Purpose:
We seek a Trust Officer interested in growing his or her career with an established, yet nimble, Trust Company. The person we seek will manage and onboard trust accounts and client relationships; and apply legal-focused trust and investment knowledge in a diverse and entrepreneurial role.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Client Relationship Management - responsible for maintaining current client relationships
- Contact, correspond, advise, and resolve complex problems with clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, CPAs, portfolio managers, and other professionals in the course of administration of accounts
- Represent Cornerstone Trust in business related activities, and create and retain business relationships
- Identify potential for new business opportunities
- Serve as trust subject matter expert
- Work with business partners to resolve risk management issues
- Coordinate with Investment Officers in the receipt, valuation, review, and disposition of all assets as needed or required
- Obtain, review, and maintain appropriate documentation on accounts
- Authorize discretionary and non-discretionary payments
- Manage tax and legal activities related to the accounts
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 2+ years of trust experience
- Industry certifications and related education (CTFA, BS or BA)
- Expertise in trusts, fiduciary law, and South Dakota Trust Law
- Skilled in reading and interpreting trust documentation as well as managing the Trust Department
- Drive to build the organization and service clientele
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and problem solve
- Strong written and communication skills
- Professional demeanor and appearance necessary at all times
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
- Ability to learn new computer programs or experience using programs such as Worldox, Junxure, Infovisa
- Capability of working in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated team player with a positive attitude
- Ability for travel as needed (there will be some travel involved)
