The Gold Seal of Approval ® and the Heart-Check mark represent symbols of quality from their respective organizations. Sumner Regional Medical Center underwent a rigorous onsite review in May 2018. Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with stroke-related standards and requirements, including program management, the delivery of clinical care and performance improvement.

Sumner Regional is an accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI from the American College of Cardiology, which means we excel at getting patients having an active heart attack through our catheterization labs and opening their heart vessels within 90 minutes.

The Laboratory Supervisor supervises daily staff activities for assigned Laboratory areas and functions.



Job Requirements:
Minimum Education
Three years of college in a Medical Technology program which is approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS), plus one year internship in an approved hospital. 4

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Minimum Work Experience

Six years experience in a clinical laboratory as a technologist with forty-five hours of continuing education in management, in addition to fifteen hours of technical continuing education is required for licensure as a Laboratory Supervisor by the Tennessee State Board of Health.

Point of Care experience - Preferred
