As a Business Development Specialist, you will work in a territory as an inside sales / territory manager to develop and maintain dynamic relationships with our distributor and OEM customer base. You will be responsible for increasing revenue by creating long term, mutually beneficial relationships with customers and prospects using highly skilled efforts with qualified targets and decision makers to uncover opportunities, develop solution quotes, liaison with engineering for application designs, and manage the territory effectively.
Territory Management / Business Development
- Daily meeting with field sales to discuss opportunities and strategies for the territory. Communicate essential information from operations, market development, and customer service.
- Targeted calls to gain insight on upcoming projects and pitch promotional items.
- Use every customer interaction opportunity for benefit selling based on feature offerings
- Effectively negotiate and close business

- Finding and delivering on profitable opportunities - This should be done by developing a team game plan with field sales for Target Accounts, Rebate Reports, qualifying and follow up on live inquiries and coordinating shared calendars.
- Work with engineering to provide customer detailed product & technical information
- Work with a solution-oriented mindset in all areas
- Contact with customers to prepare product quotations, orders, schedules and other general inquiries.
- Serve as primary inside contact for assigned customers. Strengthen customer relationships through telephone contact, written correspondence, and possible customer visits with Field Sales.
- Coordinate the order entry process to ensure all orders for assigned customers are entered timely and accurately.
- Solicit product demand information from assigned customers. Communicate changes in demand and trends to plant personnel and field sales.
- Maintain customer files to include customer profiles, names of contacts, telephone numbers, product specifications, current prices, written correspondence, complaint/return information.
- Work with all functional groups (sales, manufacturing, quality, etc.) to ensure customer complaints are resolved quickly and effectively.
- Within the established pricing structure determine sell prices based on pre-screen questions and order / quote history
- Able to make key/critical decisions within specified authority
- Acts as liaison between customers and relevant inside teams to meet customer requirements
- Monitors customer demand and communicates significant changes quickly and appropriately
- Works directly with Customer Service
- Works well in group problem solving situations
- Understands processes and process control and proactively drives improvements

Skills
- Have excellent communication and consultative selling skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and executives.
- CRM - Salesforce preferred
- Basic to moderate skill level in Microsoft office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
