Buyer Planner Coordinator - Memphis

Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Buyer Planner Coordinator for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Memphis, TN.

This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position. As a KellyOCG employee you will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K and a variety of other benefits to choose from. Title: Buyer Planner Coordinator

Location: Memphis (38118)

Hours: M-F standard

Pay: $28 hr

As the Planner/Buyer Coordinator, you are responsible for continuity of purchased items supply through the support of Supply Chain Processes, reports, and metrics, and you will communicate any constraints both internally at Monument DELIVER and with the suppliers. Under general supervision, you perform a variety of task according to established procedures linked to monitoring continuity of supply, replenishment signal, monitor and handles ordering process, communicate potential component delivery and capacity issues.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively coordinate the indirect materials planning, purchasing and ensure timely delivery to customers of finished products.
  • Monitor, review and update open purchase orders to ensure accuracy of MRP system.
  • Collect information regarding indirect material, packaging material and related requirements from Deliver production specifications and schedules.
  • Ensure inventory replenishment systems are developed and working effectively; systems should flag risk and support mitigation of operations downtime and customer service issues.
  • Check scheduled delivery dates and make initial contact with suppliers on late deliveries.
  • Set and monitor inventory targets and establish processes to ensure targets are met according to inventory entitlement models
  • Communicate potential component/supplier capacity issues.
  • Drive the resolution and inventory returns/credits as needed for component non-conformances.
  • Execute slow-moving and obsolescence work processes.
  • Prepare orders to vendors as directed for raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material needed for production.
  • Identify issues and notify appropriate personnel/management as appropriate.
  • Check with Distribution Departments regarding receipts, availability and movement of materials to detect shortages or overages and discrepancies.
  • Support supplier or component S&OP as required.
  • Support and identify Lean or Six Sigma improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent degree required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience required
  • Ability to coordinate issue resolution in the supply chain and understand the interactions of planning, engineering, bill of materials/routes, purchasing, quality, internal customs, warehouse, receiving
  • Ability to drive continuous process improvements
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training or certification preferred
  • Strong organization skills and an aptitude for planning
  • Dedicated approach, mathematical ability, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Capacity to demonstrate flexibility and work in a dynamic environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, social skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • GMP/ ISO knowledge preferred
  • Medical Device industry experience is a plus
  • Requires knowledge of Warehouse Management software; JD Edwards or SAP software experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Purchasing and Planning/Production systems (such as JDE or SAP) preferred
  • Requires physical ability to perform light (5 to 20 pounds) to moderate (20-50 pounds) lifting on an infrequent basis
