Job description

You will work closely with our head of product and CEO and balance "having your hands on the keyboard" with leading design discussions for large projects and informing some of our largest decisions for the team. You will also recommend ways to improve our current technical processes and design your own technical processes that will result in a well-oiled machine of an engineering team. In this role, you'll be responsible for some of the most critical parts of our web and app user experience.

You will lead the day to day activities of the engineers and prioritize decisions around engineering staffing and product roadmap

Design and lead all technical aspects of our product - and review code written by other members of the team

Help us hire and grow the engineering team: you'll be the key player in interviews and hiring decisions, and lead onboarding and training for new engineers

Design and implement an engineering team to level up technical processes, code quality, and system design

Requirements

You're an engineering leader that thrives on the balance of coaching teams while also building products that matters. A passion for learning and adopting new technologies helps you keep your technical skills fresh, and you're someone who's comfortable experimenting until you find the solution that works. You also get energized from imparting those learnings to junior team members. You enjoy optimizing current processes and designing new processes that allow you to get work done efficiently. You have the experience, instincts, and analytical mindset to make quality, timely decisions.

Requirements:

6+ years experience with frontend web, mobile, and backend development (React, React Native, JavaScript, MySQL)

1-2 years managing engineers or coaching and developing developers

Experience ideating, implementing and scaling CICD, coding standards and testing expectations

Excited about tackling big, hairy user flows in a scalable fashion

Experience integrating with Saas providers, bonus points for financial service ones

History of teaching and mentoring others

Bonus:
