ABOUT THE JOB

F45 Training, the fastest growing fitness franchise network in the world, has exploded in the last six years with over 2,000 franchisees in 61 countries, and this is just the beginning.

We are looking for a mid-level attorney to join F45s Legal Team at its headquarters in Austin, TX. Reporting to our Associate General Counsel, the individual selected for this Legal Counsel role will manage the Companys franchise registration process, oversee the Companys intellectual property portfolio and provide legal advice as requested by the Company.

Responsibilities

* Prepare all required franchise registration documents and handle all yearly renewals, both in the US and globally.
* Ensure the Companys compliance with franchise and business laws in countries in which it operates.
* Maintain and update all templates.
* Manage day-to-day activities of the Companys global intellectual property portfolio, including domestic and international clearance, filing, prosecution, maintenance, enforcement and defense.
* Assist in the preparation, review and negotiation of various commercial agreements including U.S. and global franchise-related agreements.
* Effectively interact, both verbally and in writing, with external parties (e.g. franchisees) to clarify any legal issues, determine the best recourse and escalate issues as required.
* Provide day-to-day proactive global employment law advice, assistance and counseling.
* Assist in various litigation matters as needed from time to time.
* Provide support and strategic advice to other functions in the legal department and to internal clients.

Requirements

* Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and a member of good standing in Texas.
* 5+ years of experience in corporate and commercial practice gained from combined experience at a law firm and an in-house position.
* Experience in intellectual property and commercial contracts required.
* Experience in franchise law and labor and employment, a plus.
* Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, to adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent.
* High attention to detail.
* Solutions oriented.
* Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Googles G-Suite.
