Position Summary

Austin Retina Associates is seeking a responsible, self-motivated individual to work closely with the billing manager to create and facilitate reporting and analysis to evaluate operational initiatives and drive operational efficiencies. Develops and maintains standard reporting measures to help create training and learning opportunities.

Duties and Expectations

  • Interpret billing and productivity data, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational effectiveness, trends, and opportunities.

  • Develop reports and deliverables for management and communicate results with billing team members and assist with coaching on areas for improvement.

  • Help to gather, report, review, and monitor performance metrics of the billing and insurance team.

  • Document current workflows, system processes, and maintain project plans. With the goal to create training materials, and standard workflows.

  • Assist with training team members on operational improvements.

  • Actively participate in team meetings and workflow development sessions. Assist with special projects.

  • Review and understand workflows and standard operating procedures related to revenue cycle functions including (but not limited to) authorizations, coding, correspondence, claims, accounts receivable, and credits/refunds.

  • Involve billing manager when appropriate (e.g., resistance leadership, before things escalate, etc.).

  • Other duties as requested

  • Relevant experience or education in analytics, audit, or medical billing

  • Experience with leadership as a manager or team lead

  • Enjoys projects and project management

  • Experience with training others and creating training materials

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask effectively while minimizing mistakes

  • Ability to manage time effectively to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner

  • Demonstrated effectiveness showing courtesy, diligence, integrity, and teamwork

  • Strong interpersonal skills (effective listening, clear communication, effective customer problem resolution, warm demeanor)

  • Ability to master multiple computer systems (data entry and data retrieval)

  • Proficiency with MS Excel or Google Sheets (spreadsheets)

Position Details
  • Schedule 8AM-5pm Monday-Friday. Position will start as an in-office role based at 1512 W. 35th Street, Austin, TX 78731.

  • Hourly pay (FLSA non-exempt, eligible for overtime)

  • Physical requirements: Ability to operate computer devices, frequent use of a computer terminal, frequent standing and moving
