Responsibilities:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Development Director- Socials in our Austin, TX office. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to expand the success of the Heart Ball and Go Red For Women campaigns across the market.
This position will lead the Socials team with a focus on new business in Austin and successfully achieving an overall fundraising goal through corporate sponsorship, individual giving, and participant income. The market goal is $3M. The individual goal range is $1.5M-$2M
Your Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:
Drive new business development through sponsorship and corporate fundraising. High focus on developing relationships with new companies.
Develop and cultivate relationships with volunteers, sponsors, and key corporate/community leaders to successfully drive participation in Heart Challenge.
Manage fundraising in participating Heart Ball and GRFW companies to achieve revenue goals.
Perform donor/fundraiser data entry and generate donor/fundraising reports (Luminate, Dynamics).
Monitor participant fundraising trends and implement proven strategies to maximize revenue for all Socials events.
Serve as internal point person to manage the Socials Leadership Team and Chair engagement.
Proactively provide event support for priority revenue generation.
Organize and create AHA account team contacts, sponsorship contacts, proposals, letters of agreement, sponsorship payments, presentations and benefits delivered.
Ensure successful collaboration and implementation of National Heart Challenge strategies.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred.
3 + years of experience in fundraising, outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity.This experience may also count towards satisfying this position's educational requirement.
1 year of direct staff managerial experience preferably with a sales or fundraising team in a similar organization.
Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment and management, proven track record in meeting sales/fundraising goals.
Organization, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are a must.
Candidates must be results driven with the ability to multitask and must also be willing and able to travel within the assigned territory up to 75%.
Must have the ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office 2010 used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.
