Position Overview
This position is responsible for supporting the administrative functions of the human resources department. Individual will work with the Human Resources Manager and other team members to maximize the efficiency of the department in support of the organizational goals and standards
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Assist Human Resource Manager, Recruiting Manager & HR Generalists with hiring processes, including the composition of job descriptions, coordination of pre-employment paperwork, background checks, drug screenings, and conducting new hire orientations
- Manage pre-employment process using electronic onboarding tool, ClickBoarding
- Assist Recruiter with career fairs including coordination and participation at events
- Create, audit, and maintain personnel and employee medical files to ensure compliance requirements
- Assist with creation and implementation of various training modules as needed for benefits enrollment, anti-harassment, orientation, EEO compliance, supervisor training, etc for compliance purposes
- Create and maintain various HR electronic databases, reports, and spreadsheets as needed within the department
- Assist Human Resources Manager with regular excel reporting needs
- Manage employee app content development
- Manage company video loop content creation
- Assist Human Resources Manager with development and maintenance of policies and procedures and with disseminating this information to employees, as needed
- Maintain training log within Viewpoint, SuccessFactors, and personnel files
- Provide support of incoming phone calls relating to human resources
- Partner with Safety department on various overlapping functions such as physical job requirements, orientation safety training, safety mentoring programs and other HR/safety initiatives as needed
- Provide support/back-up to front desk operations
- Assist HR team with employee engagement events, including working at the company picnic, holiday celebrations, health fair, open enrollment, etc.
- Maintain professional demeanor in dealing with critical/confidential information; restricts discussion/ knowledge of activity to a "need to know" basis
- Serve as back-up for human resources staff on all human resources related matters
- Complete project work as assigned timely and efficiently
- Assist with special projects and reporting needs
- Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 1-3 years related experience in an office setting, performing administrative tasks, preferably within the human resources function
- Tech savvy
- Experience with Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Experience in a construction environment preferred.
Work Requirements
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Must be 18 years in age or older
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Able to safely drive a vehicle
- Regular required attendance and reporting ready to begin work at the designated start time
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as per company policy
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
- Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA
- Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work with Management
- Strong problem-solving an analytical skills preferred
- Strong technical aptitude skills and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to perform under deadline pressure
- Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust
Physical Requirements

- May occasionally lift move/carry up to 10 lbs. and occasionally use exertion forces of pushing/pulling of up to 10 lbs
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects for extended periods of time
- Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus
- Standard office environment
- Tempo is fast-paced with deadlines
- The noise level in some areas of the work environment may be moderate.
