Summary:

Monitor the debit and credit of client accounts.Performs posting operation to institutional clients, and reviews all billing transactions related to accounts receivable system.Resolves client inquires and complaints on institutional billing transactions.Perform order entry, registration, and other clerical duties.Perform the training of all clerical staff in the proper registration and printing of patient reports.Perform other clerical duties as needed which can include insurance verification, recording statistics, registering patients and updating patient accounts. Also assists with scheduling patient appointments, answers phones and inform patients of their benefits.Also, complete other duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all types of people and perform under stressful conditions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills with various software programs, such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and other department specific programs
  • Perform Mathematical calculations proficiently.
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions and perform repetitious tasks.
  • Must be able to compile, interpret, and analyze data.
  • Computer basic keyboard skills, telephone skills and general knowledge of office machines including a 10-key adding machine, printers, copier, scanner, and credit card machines required.
  • Two years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, collections, managed care and hospital patient registration or comparable position required.
  • Previous experience with appointment systems in a physician's office or other outpatient health care facility.
  • Previous office experience required.
  • Knowledge if basic medical terminology required.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
