Development Associate

• Provide detailed analysis reports measuring fundraising activities moving toward closing gifts and stewarding long term relationships.

• Administer prospect research, assignment system and oversee prospect tracking in CRM.

• Research and identify new potential funding sources (foundation, corporate, individual).

• Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for ensuring the integrity of the Raiser's Edge database.

• Proactively identify opportunities for systems and workflow improvements, recognize potential problems, and provide

recommendations for solutions.

• Manage the fundraising calendar to ensure all deadlines are met.

• Directly assist the Director of Development with donor outreach, scheduling meetings and follow-up.

• Coordinate individual donor-related fundraising projects and mailings for annual giving, direct mail, social media, and other correspondence.

• Assist with planning, execution and post-event activities related to THE LUNCH, including but not limited to attendee tracking, gift entry, reporting, logistics and other aspects

  • Assist with planning, execution and post-event activities related to volunteer activities.

• Periodic weekend and evening tasks are required, such as, but not limited to fundraisers and donor development events.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies)

• Advanced knowledge of relational databases, and database system management.

• Prior experience using Raiser's Edge preferred.

• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office with specific knowledge of Excel.

• Acute attention to detail with strong problem solving and analytical skills.

• Must be innovative with a heightened sense of initiative.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, balance multiple projects, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer service approach.

• Ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience working with database systems.

Bachelor's Degree required.

• BA/BS degree, in a related field or other degree, or equivalent experience

Reports to: Senior Director of Development

The Development Associate will provide oversight and administrative support of Goodwill's database and prospect management systems, Raiser Edge NXT. The employee will execute daily fundraising operations, including prospect identification and research, creation of various types of donor communications, data entry and gift maintenance, donor acknowledgments and tracking of overall donor moves management. The Associate will assist with direct mail, the annual giving program and Goodwill's largest fundraising event, THE LUNCH.

Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee all aspects of Goodwill's database (Raiser Edge NXT), including gift and prospect records, and maintaining donor files.

• Respond to all inbound calls, emails, and correspondence within a timely manner.

• Identify, research, qualify, and engage prospects for events and solicitation.

• Assist the Director of Development to manage donor relationships between current, lapsed, monthly, and mid-level donors.
