Job description

Selby Jennings is working with one of the world's largest and most prestigious investment banks on an Executive Director of Software Engineering search for a key technical lead/manager within a rapidly growing group. This is a highly confidential project that encompasses the payments space. Our client puts a huge emphasis on technology and consistently has one of the highest tech-spends in financial services. The chosen candidate will lead and manage an engineering organization and own projects that will have a direct impact on how they serve their customers.

Compensation can be above market rate for the right candidate particularly given that the role is in Dallas or Houston and the vast array of benefits around cost of living and lifestyle!

To be considered, you have the following qualifications, strengths, and abilities:

• Extensive experience building data platforms on AWS Cloud and Data Analytics engineering solutions
• Achieving reliability by applying standards of cloud compliance to application design
• Experience where uptime and continuous availability was core to the business in large scale companies/technologies
• Hands on experience on managing operations of large-scale Data environments serving external and internal customers
• 10+ years of experience in one of the following languages: Java/JavaScript/React/Angular/SQL/Python
• 3-5+ years' experience in managing large scale Data platforms in a Cloud Environment
• 5-7 + years of developing and managing applications leveraging event streaming/messaging and DB services such as Cassandra, Kafka, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Cloud Pub/Sub, etc.
