Job Description:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
* Primary duties for the Strategic Talent Partner will include:
* Align all employees to the business' objectives and enhance employee performance
* Support employee and leadership development efforts (includes coaching programs/initiatives)
* Assist with Talent acquisition efforts
* Plan and implement strategic Talent initiatives
* Oversee the work of Talent consultants/vendors
* Manage, coach, and mentor more junior Talent Partners
* Develop and implement local training programs
* Manage employee onboarding including preliminary and long-term planning
* Facilitate communication of role expectations between employees and managers
* Facilitate succession planning
* Facilitate ongoing workforce planning
* Facilitate team development and ongoing team dynamics exercises
* Support employee relations for assigned client units
* Support internship programs within assigned client units
* Monitor and manage employee engagement and experience
* Facilitate employee well-being initiatives
* Partner with the Centers of Expertise to service all Talent needs for the business
* Consult with business unit leaders and line management, providing Talent guidance as appropriate
* Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with Solutions Center and Centers of Expertise to customize solutions, programs and policies to the needs of the assigned client unit
* Triage and stabilize employee relations issues and assist Solution Center and Centers of Expertise with investigating, managing, and resolving complaints and claims
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
* Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
* Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management, e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, etc.
* Professionally and empathetically facilitate the departure of underperforming employees on a timely basis
* Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning
* Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs
* Evaluate and monitor training programs and follow up to ensure training objectives are met successfully
* Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase engagement, team productivity, and retention
* Partner with leadership to develop job offer terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers
* Consult on hiring decisions, facilitate the hiring process, and ensure accountability to hiring procedures and standards
* Assist with talent mobility. Facilitate cross regional and divisional project staffing needs.
* Develop compensation knowledge of the marketplace
* Perform other related duties as required
MINIMUM SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Strong level of business literacy about the business unit's operating model, strategy, financial position, midrange plans, culture, and competition
* Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational development, recruiting, learning and development, workforce strategy, team effectiveness, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and employment laws
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
* Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors
* Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's preferred
* Minimum of 5 years of experience directly resolving complex employee and organization issues
* SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment preferred
