Research Lab Technician - Dallas, TX 75204
Kelly Scientific & Clinical is currently seeking a Research Lab Technician to support on-going Clinical Trials. This role is located in Dallas, TX 75204.
This role is responsible for performing basic to complex laboratory techniques that assists in the collection, processing, storage and shipping of human tissue and biofluids.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process blood, tissue and other biofluid samples using sterile technique in a Biosafety level 2 cabinet according to study laboratory manuals or internal SOPS
- Performs routine Laboratory cleaning and maintenance according to SOPS such as using appropriate cleaners to wipe bench and hood surfaces, incubators, water baths and other equipment or apparatus.
- Monitors equipment for optimal performance, such as appropriate levels of water and disinfectants in water baths, CO2 in incubators, temperatures in incubators, freezers, etc.
- Reports major problems with equipment to the laboratory manager.
Maintains proficiency in areas requiring initial certification such as IATA shipping, General Laboratory Safety, Biosafety Level II and Bloodborne Pathogen training, that are necessary for the performance of his/her work. - Attends Lab meetings, reads assigned literature, and occasionally makes presentations on his/her project at the request of the core manager.
- May be required to teach techniques or otherwise assist in the training of other laboratory personnel.
- Performs other assignments as needed and requested by the Investigator or Laboratory Manager
- Flexible schedule required as early/late and/or weekend & holiday work is involved as well as overtime.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in life science discipline; 1+ years of experience in a research laboratory with human blood and biofluid processing
- Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and perform maintenance
- Use of statistical, analytical or presentation software
- Knowledge of Freezerworks sample management software a plus
- $16-20 pay rate depending on experience
- Temp-to-Hire; Benefits
- 40 hours a week; Flexible to work overtime
- 8am-5:00pm M-F
