Job description

Company seeks an engaging, dedicated and strategic individual to join our Americas team as the VP of Business Development. The successful candidate will oversee the daily sales activity inline with the strategies and vision of Company. The individual will be responsible for directing the company's sales team to meet and exceed goals, advancing opportunities in harmony with company policies, designing effective sales strategies and promoting the products and services of the company while being a voice into the Product team. As a key member of the Americas team, the VP of Business Development will work in collaboration with Marketing, Client Engagement and Business Solutions to deliver commercial propositions to the market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess the market landscape and sales opportunities throughout the Americas including U.S., Canada, Caribbean and key LATAM markets
  • Develop a business plan to attack three key verticals, focussing on FS, Travel and the Corporate sector while remaining opportunistic and identifying future sectors
  • Complete and keep up to date with a competitive assessment, understanding how the loyalty and benefits space develops in markets
  • Work through a business development team, build a robust pipeline of prospects and developing key relationships
  • Deliver an agreed revenue target of new business sales on an on-going basis
  • Manage and build out distribution partners in market to expand breadth of coverage across the region
  • Recruit, hire and manage sales staff and facilitating training programs
  • Outline and manage sales budgets; providing detailed forecasting
  • Set quarterly and annual sales goals and motivating the team to achieve/succeed their goals
  • Create sales reports, identify trends and provide feedback to the leadership team
  • Collaborate with global colleagues to leverage existing relationships and replicate sales success

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading the business development strategy and delivery of new business in a B2B environment
  • A leader with strong strategic and creative thinking, work ethic, business acumen, organizational and decision-making skills
  • Ability to travel (including international travel) as needed (25%+)
  • Spanish language skills in a professional setting highly desirable
  • Experience in managing partners and distributors ensuring delivery of results and the meeting of targets
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, Salesforce highly desirable
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of and insight into market trends, with an ability to think strategically
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed
  • In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods, as well as employee motivation techniques.
  • Strong working knowledge of the company's products, competitive products, and the market.
  • Able to provide thought leadership and direction to functional teams thereby leading the development of the region ensuring products and propositions fit the market and constantly refined as the market, and competitors, evolve their offerings
  • Experienced, customer facing individual with the ability to work as an individual contributor
  • Knowledge of FS essential, with some experience of either / both the Travel and Corporate sectors
