Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer include, but are not limited to:

• Efficient and effective management of Purchase Requisitions/Orders to insure the timely receipt of material.
• Develop and implement inventory reduction programs, e.g., JIT delivery, VMI, Batch, etc.
• Develop and maintain all data related to the order and delivery parameters of all purchased material.
• Management, including disposal, of excess raw material inventories.
• Develop and implement processes and procedures governing all facets of the Purchasing function, i.e., management of requisitions, purchase orders, defective material, purchase price variance, etc.
• Develop and implement supplier performance metrics that will lead to improved quality and delivery performance.
• Develop and maintain a process to calculate least cost order and/or delivery quantities.
• Implementation of the Syteline ERP system within the Planning and Purchasing areas.
• Identify deficiencies in the areas of Planning and Purchasing and participate in the development of corrective actions that will lead to performance improvement.
• Establish and maintain Material Master records at a level that will insure material is managed efficiently, effectively, and correctly throughout the business system.
• Develop and maintain all data related to unit of measures, yield factors, and scrap factors.
• Establish and maintain Purchasing Information Records to efficiently manage the procurement process.

Qualifications of the Senior Buyer include, but are not limited to:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience within the Planning and/or Purchasing arena.
• A college degree, preferably in Materials, Operations, or Purchasing Management.
• Direct experience in Supply Base Management with a history of performance improvements.
• Specific experience in a multi-plant, centralized Purchasing environment.
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels within the company.
• Experience within an ERP/MRPII materials management environment; Syteline experience preferred.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office, primarily Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Total Quality Management, Continuous Improvement, Lean manufacturing experience a plus.
• NAPM and/or APICS certification a plus.
