Position Summary

First Command has a deeply embedded foundation with longstanding values and a strong culture of service. In order to become even more client-centric, the organization is seeking to add training specialist in order to support the training function. The Training Specialist serve as a producer for the facilitator of all service training offerings. In addition, the Training Specialist will become certified in all Service & Support offerings while driving improvement in the quality and consistency of experiences being delivered by our service and support teams. We deliver quality experiences that are effective, easy, and enjoyable for our clients with a goal of driving loyalty with clients, Advisors, and service associates.

Recognizing the service quality as being key in fulfilling our Mission requires an ongoing face to face coaching relationship with a Financial Advisor, our training team plays a critical and complementary role to the Home Office service teams who support the Advisor in servicing our client's needs throughout their lifecycle. Our service teams represent a strategic support component of our service delivery strategy which strives to deliver a seamless client experience.

The Training Specialist will work with identified partners to update and distribute course materials to participants, ensure the administration around course delivery is organized, and that training events are clearly communicated to participants and stakeholders. Additionally, this role will facilitate collaboration across Field Force Training, Leadership Development and Field Support Operations to ensure training value is understood, obtained, and sustained. The Training Specialist will be an ambassador for establishing a brand for service.

Responsibilities

  • Influence a more consistent and easier client experience through thoughtful development and delivery of training
  • Strong ability to develop and deliver training content for various learning styles with an emphasis on current eLearning cloud-based tools (e.g., Vyond, Captivate, Storyline 360, Powtoon, etc.)
  • Perform as producer for all service training courses
  • Demonstrate instructional design proficiency to help develop and enhance training curriculums
  • Obtain certifications in all service training courses on a timely schedule
  • Facilitate existing service and leadership training courses as needed
  • Administer training components (surveys, invites, mailings, data collection, etc.)
  • Ensure training materials are migrated to and available on the First Command Learning Management System
  • Create and drive Moving to Mastery activities (quality, cohort programs, colloquies, etc.)
  • Ensure a standardized quality framework approach for the service organization
  • Monitor and track results of training, provide insights to leadership
  • Make recommendations to service and support leaders on appropriate metrics for training
  • Content oversight and approval through a governance process
  • Participate in and own Agile activities as needed-representing Service & Support
  • Contribute to the creation and completion of the knowledge management epic
  • Stay current and educated on any trends, innovations, and applications within the financial service industry

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in an online and/or on-the-ground corporate training environment
  • At least two years' experience required with demonstrated ability to work alone and with minimal direction
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics
  • Knowledge of financial services industry with prior industry experience (preferred)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, consultative and negotiation skills; ability to make effective presentations to all levels of audiences
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced, diverse and growth-oriented environment
  • Ability to operate within a budget
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning methodologies
  • Experience with Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Business Administration or related field
  • Certification in Instructional Design (preferred)
