Adhesive Chemical Technician - North Houston, TX

Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for an Adhesive Chemical Technician position at a specialty chemical company in north Houston, TX. The overall focus of this role is to develop innovative solutions for high performance structural adhesive applications.

The successful candidate will should be able to conduct physical and chemical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of epoxies, curatives and adhesive systems. This will include setting up chemical experiments, mechanical testing and analyses using techniques and methods commonly used in the composites industry.

In addition, the successful candidate should also be capable of understanding, operating and maintaining complex fabrication and testing equipment used in the composites industry.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Basic formulation knowledge and an understanding of raw materials used in the composites industry
  • Produce and record accurate data for R&D projects.
  • Manage lab equipment, raw material procurement and chemical inventory.
  • Knowledge of physical test methods related to resin and composite properties.
  • Ability and willingness to meet demanding project timelines and productivity pressures.
  • Organizing assignments in a manner that maximizes work efficiency without sacrificing quality.

Other general responsibilities:

  • Participate in and complete company-required training programs
  • Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company

Job Requirements:

  • Associated Degree in Chemical Technology or related technology.
  • Previous experience with testing equipment
  • Previous experience with thermoset chemistry
  • Previous experience with adhesives
  • Minimum: 1-3 years industrial research including testing, processing and mechanical operations.

This is a long term contract assignment. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, day shift. If you meet the above qualifications, please submit your resume for immediate consideration.
