GENERAL SUMMARY:

Envoy is seeking a Business Analyst well versed in dealing with multiple applications that center around the business of originating and selling loans. Our applications are mix of internally developed applications and vender developed/hosted applications. The ideal candidate will serve as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions which meet user needs. Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization's systems and capabilities. Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology. Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.

Requirements:
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interfaces with users and vendors to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications; provides maintenance information
  • Participates in project planning
  • Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing business process/application
  • Confers with personnel to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data output, how data is to be summarized and formats for reporting
  • Writes detailed descriptions of user needs for reports and/or program functions and the steps required to modify or develop the application/s
  • Reviews system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations to determine if the requested functionality is possible
  • Studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develops new processes to improve production or workflow as required
  • Prepares workflow charts to specify in detail operations to be performed
  • Conducts studies pertaining to new development of application and processes to meet current and projected needs
  • Plans and prepares documentation and instructional manuals, as needed
  • Assists Application Developers in resolution of issues related to project specifications or programming
  • Directs and coordinates work of other project resources as required to meet project goals
  • Performs application testing for both internally developed applications and serves as the testing coordinator
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in related field or equivalent, two to four years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and document business processes using Word, Excel and Visio applications
  • Develop detailed specification documents that are based on the RUP management process.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Acute attention to detail coupled with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance
  • Ability to analyze the impact of system changes on existing processes and to design, and implement modifications without disruption to existing workflow
  • Ability to interact effectively with team members and peers in order to exchange information and develop appropriate strategies to solve problems and meet customer needs
