Civil Construction EstimatorJob DescriptionThe Estimator is responsible for preparing construction estimates including soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids and scope of work, preparing quantity take-offs, reviewing project plans and specifications for all categories of work. The qualified candidate must be able to produce a detailed scope of materials, labor, equipment and overhead specific to the requirements for each project.Job ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the project manager and estimating team to resolve request for information (RFI)Handle vendor solicitationsReview bid documents to ensure accuracy of bid proposal submissions for new projectsKnowledge of quantity take-offsUpdate / post plans and specifications (in-house and online subcontractor plan room)Generate and manage tab sheetsCreate tab sheets for subcontractor quotes and bid leveling that encompass complete scope of workManage pricing as directed, specifically self-perform pricingWork with the project manager and team to create bid packaging documentsWrite scope of workManage subcontractor contactsOther duties as assignedRequired Skills10 + years as an Estimator in civil construction industry10 + years experience in underground utilities10 + years experience in concrete pavingWorking knowledge of lift stations, pump stations, water plantsStrong analytical and mathematical skillsAbility to read and understand blueprintsKnowledge of basic computer software applications including MS Project 13 and CADTXDOT, Public and Private sector construction knowledgeExcellent communication skillsRequired EducationBachelor's degree - Construction Management, Engineering or equivalentJob Type: Full-timeExperience:concrete paving: 10 years (Required)Construction Estimating: 5 years (Required)Estimating: 5 years (Required)Education:Bachelor's (Required)
