Job description

Provides leadership, planning, project coordination and management for Business Intelligence related systems that support the ongoing operations of SCI. Directs and oversees high level, strategic and tactical decisions related to business intelligence tools and applications to enhance business decision capabilities for the company. Accountable for ensuring continuity, process improvement, and successful delivery of support services for business intelligence and related information systems to internal users throughout the company.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


Systems Management


  • Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all aspects of Business Intelligence functions in partnership with IT and outsourcing vendors.
  • Oversees system upgrades, system interfaces, and data quality / integrity.
  • Leads the Business Intelligence team in managing day-to-day activities to support the company's needs.
  • Serves as an interface between internal / external customers and Business Intelligence team members to ensure effective definition and delivery of applications.


Vendor Relationships


  • Partners with vendors and internal clients to support ongoing processes and participates in vendor evaluation, negotiation, and selection process as needed.
  • Maintains awareness of vendor plans and the potential impact of those plans on current and future business intelligence functionality.


Team Resource Management


  • Functions as both a team member and an individual contributor in driving and executing process improvements through the use of project and process structured methodologies.
  • Manages business intelligence projects and staff to achieve company goals and objectives that require business intelligence related support.
  • Manages budgetary requirements for business intelligence operations and staffing needs, including forecasting and development of annual budgets.
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and local government legislation in relation to company data.
  • Develops a strong, trusting, and reliable team
  • Fosters a culture of innovation, transparency and accountability.
  • Understands team members' career aspirations and strives to provide assignments to develop skills and/or close gaps.
  • Monitors company compliance training and ensures staff attends as needed.
  • Responsible for screening candidates (internal and external) and hiring or promoting a skilled and effective staff.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


Education


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics or other related discipline


Experience


  • Ten (10) years of Information Technology experience
  • Eight (8) years of leadership experience

  • Experience with highly demanding business requirements
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Demonstrated accuracy with reports and projects, analytical aptitude, and strong attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

Work Environment


  • Work indoors during all seasons and weather conditions
  • Occasional local and/or multiple location traveling required
  • Standard business dress is required


Work Postures


  • Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per day

  • Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage

Work Hours


  • Working a number of evenings every month; occasional weekend work
