Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage a team of accountants on a daily basis, ensuring the department's and the company's accounting and financial reporting objectives are met
• Manage the monthly financial close process ensuring the accounting close steps and procedures are performed in a timely manner and meet the department's scheduling requirements
• Review and post the accounting staff's general ledger transactions performed throughout the month
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to the monthly close schedule
• Review and document variation analysis of the financial statements on a monthly and annual basis
• Review current internal controls structure, framework, and key accounting processes, providing feedback to the corporate controller with potential improvements
• Review and approve general ledger account reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Coordinate and take lead on the interim and annual corporate financial audit
• Assist with special projects on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Compile data and supporting schedules for debt compliance under the company's credit agreement
• Review and improve key accounting processes to ensure current processes are efficient and effective
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP for all Company Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts
• Develop, implement and document policies, procedures and best practices for accounting and financial reporting for the Company

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Valid CPA license
• 5 years of accounting experience with prior management experience
• Strong general ledger knowledge and experience
• Ability to research, document and resolve technical accounting matters
