Job description
The role of Site Supervisoris a vital aspect to the day-to-day operations of CampTek. Key roles for this job are centered around field work and installation of new systems/services, plus supervising the other field technicians at site. You will be monitoring and overseeing the safety, schedule and execution of work in all CampTek sites. You are to provide leadership, training and direction to your assigned crews and subcontractors as appropriate. Ensure punctual reporting for both internal and client specified reports. Tasking and assignment are self-directed but it is expected that you will use your resources appropriately to complete your work. Duties are to be performed at a high level of professionalism and moral standards, ensuring that the projects' goals of safety and schedule are maintained throughout the work.
You will report directly to the VP of Operations, while working closely with the other Site Supervisors on certain aspects. You will manage the Field Technicians, and work together to supervise as required.
There are three main roles to this job; Supervisor Role, Field Work, and NOC Remote Support Assistance.
Key Accountabilities
As Site Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Safety Coordination - Being a leader with respect to safety amongst other staff. This includes dailyFLHA forms and ensuring all working staff complete one and you sign off on it.
- Client Expectations - Ensure that CampTek safety standards and client expectations are communicated to the Field Technicians and the sub-contractors and follow through on their responsibilities and audit that they are practiced.
- Communication - Maintain open communications with your crews and sub-contractors reviewing deliverables on a weekly basis with daily updates expected, as a minimum standard.
- Project Daily Reports - Provides an overview of the project status to the Project Manager on a daily basis.
- Support - Provide leadership support to CampTek staff and subcontractors regarding all project specific items.
- Client Interface - When required interface directly with the clients on site construction management team, utilizing construction knowledge and tools to manage the work, advise and direct in an ethical and responsible manner.
- Identify any ways to improve the way CampTek operates, while keeping costs in mind.
- Assisting the Project Manager in preparing construction schedules, including keeping him up to date on existing projects, and upcoming work/schedules.
- Review ongoing projects and provide comments/assistance on progress, issues, cost saving options, and other methods to streamline CampTek Operations.
- Show a willingness to learn new tasks, a willingness to succeed, and a willingness to own the project.
- Other duties as required
Field Work
- Responsible for onsite installation of cabling and hardware for all CampTek services under direction the Operations Team.
- Responsible for ensuring onsite scopes of work are completed in a timely fashion and fit in with CampTek standards (cleanliness, standardization, etc). Including updating the Operations Team/Manager as to each sites progress.
- Responsible for keeping the inventory spreadsheet up-to-date for the Seacan, storage lockers and trucks.
- Fielding Support Calls when at Client sites, and generating tickets/requests based on these issues. Ensuring the requests are followed up on and completed.
- Other duties as assigned by Management
NOC Support Assistance
Assisting with support calls will be required. A schedule will be in place to ensure coverage is looked after. The NOC Support Engineer will be doing the majority of the calls, but you will be required to help as needed.
Requirements:
- Have been in a supervisory role previously.
- Have a solid understanding of:
Cat5e/6, coax (RG6/11) and fiber wiring. Be able to pull, terminate and dress as required.
Installation of Access Points, Set Top Boxes, Coax Splitters and such.
Termination of RJ-45 jacks/ends and RG6 connectors
Testing and troubleshooting cable
Low voltage work
- Must be able to work on ladders
- Must be capable of lifting 75 pounds
- Good driving record required
- Must pass a drug screen
- Must pass back ground check
- Must have good communication skills
- Basic Knowledge of WAN/LAN and TV Systems would be an asset.
- Some training will be provided for those that have a mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic and desire to learn.
- Working hours will vary, and will involve a rotation of 3 weeks in the field, and 1 week at home.
- PPE required, including safety boots, hard hat, vests and gloves.
- Own hand tools are required. A comprehensive list will be provided upon hiring.
