Job description
The Data Visualization Analyst is an expert performing data visualizations, standard market BI Tools for the management of data. The individual is able to develop, manage new and existing BI dashboards, provides visualizations which to help simplify data, enabling various skill sets to absorb and utilize data. Common functions include reporting, agile data visualization, data mining, business performance management using descriptive-, diagnostic- and at some stage predictive- analytics. The candidate should be capable of working in a fast paced, agile and dynamic environment and should ensure adherence to strict coding and BI Tool (Qlik, Power BI) best practices. The Data Visualization Specialist will be responsible for: Creating and editing visual content including maps, charts, and graphs. Transforming data sets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals. Providing visual, technical and editorial guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop QlikView, QlikSense BI or Power BI (Business Intelligence) visualizations and dashboards.
- Query, analyze and transform complex data sets to optimize dashboard flexibility and performance.
- Support of the existing dashboards
- Conducts strategic data analysis, identifies insights and implications, and make strategic recommendations, develops data displays that clearly communicate complex analysis.
- Deliver analytics initiatives to address business problems with the ability to determine data required, assess time & effort required and establish a project plan.
- Common functions include reporting, agile data visualization, data mining, business performance management, descriptive-, diagnostic- and predictive- analytics.
- Maintain existing business reporting and analytical solutions by providing production support for troubleshooting and regular processing needs.
- Interact with Data analytics team to design, create and verify data models
- Develop and maintain relationships with business to identify and develop additional analytic and reporting capabilities.
- Train and assist users with use of the business intelligence and analytic toolsets.
- Provide guidance in the creation of Report/Dashboards and analytical solutions.
- Prepare, coordinate, and conduct regular client briefing meetings in providing insights.
- Utilize agile continuous development, continuous improvement methods, considering automation for rapid prototyping
- Utilize JIRA for project management and issue tracking for dashboard enhancements
Qualifications:
- At least intermediate development experience with one business intelligence tool, such as Qlik, Power BI Report Server or Tableau, preferably within an banking environment.
- 3-5 years of experience in Infrastructure Technologies
- Familiar with cloud concepts and types e.g. IaaS, PaaS, SaaS
- SQL querying data skills against RDBS systems is required.
- Flexibility in developing dashboards with minimal design requirements
- Experience with Qlik/Power BI server, administrative functions, organizing/ project owning
- Familiar with Agile & Scrum methodology, experienced working with JIRA for issue tracking
- Ability to create custom SQL for dataset creation and troubleshooting
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience
- Ability to work with virtual and in-person teams, and work under pressure or to a deadline
- Experience in a Financial Services or large complex and/or global environment preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Effective analytic/diagnostic skills
- ITIL Foundation certification is beneficial
- Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
