Odyssey is seeking an Agile Business Analyst with experience working with Data. This role is located ONSITE in Las Colinas, TX, and is a long-term contract opening, however, the client will consider converting this to full-time down the road. Please see full details below.
Job Detail:
We are looking for an agile candidate that effectively analyzes and documents business requirements for IT projects and programs, working on process improvement projects, which drive additional IT requirements, and creating ad-hoc reports as needed from the company data store via PowerBI. The responsibilities include using applications portfolios to understand system impacts, agile approach to manage projects of various sizes through the full software development life cycle, and inception through implementation, creating reports and dashboards for our stakeholders using our PowerBI reporting platform giving our business users valuable insights and information to make sound business decisions and act.

As the IT Business Analyst, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Provides cost-effective business systems, business processes, and applications analysis in support of the development and implementation of business applications and/or continuous process improvement.
- Includes evaluation, analysis, documentation of requirements, translation into proper system requirement specifications and configuration.
- Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both end-user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems, applications, and industry requirements.
- Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.
- Operates as a liaison between technical personnel and the end-users.
- Teaches end-users new technology and enhancements using all appropriate communication tools.
- Defines overall application functional/business requirements with end-users.
- Recommends solutions, modifications, configurations, and processes.
- Analyzes model test discrepancies to find trends and works with programmers to resolve.
- Produces business process flow charts, communications, presentations, and other materials for knowledge transfer to system users.
- Analyzes and evaluates application requirements to determine appropriate systems software solutions.
- Defines reports on the PowerBI platform, based on user requirements, as needed.
- Participates in implementation, roll out, migration, integration, upgrades, testing, performance tuning, research, and development of software solutions.
- Facilitates Sprint Ceremonies and coaching of development resources in Agile process
- Execute on tasks, as assigned by the Lead Business Analyst, Director of PMO or CIO as needed
As the IT Business Analyst, your background should include:
- Ability to conduct and prepare feasibility studies, including estimates for costs, time, and resources; prepare statistical reports; complete cost/benefit analyses
- Ability to lead project teams, work cross-functionally, and build consensus on difficult issues, as well as demonstrated technical and business leadership
- Ability to create reports using PowerBI Reporting Platform (a plus) or similar experience with other reporting/BI platforms
- Ability to support Agile teams with Scrum ceremonies to include Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Grooming, Sprint Reviews/Demos, and Sprint Retrospectives.
- Ability to coach Agile disciplines for Work Item Structure, Story Pointing, and Sprint Metrics for dashboards.
- Experience in using MS SQL and Azure Data Lake database technologies
- Experience in writing Transact SQL
- Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs
- Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices
- Knowledge of enterprise business and business processes; knowledge of business unit functions and cross-group dependencies/relationships
- Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
- Working knowledge and experience with Lean Six-Sigma principles and implementation of the same
- Scrum Master certification
