The System Engineer provides IT technical support for PC's, Servers, hardware, software and peripheral equipment for all of the company's end users.

Essential Job Functions

  • Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Resolves incoming requests for technical assistance via help desk.
  • Communicates with users and team to identify issues and explain solutions.
  • Provisioning of IT equipment, ensuring proper functionality and connectivity.
  • Ensure that systems in environment are appropriately configured, backed up, and tested according to industry best practice.
  • Development and implementation of software update cadence.
  • Advanced knowledge of patch management and software distribution.
  • Participates/leads problem management processes.
  • Maintains technical proficiency in all applications utilized by company.
  • Participating in asset management and control activities.
  • Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting Ethernet and IP configuration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft support tools, such as DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Microsoft Exchange Management.
  • Microsoft Domain administration.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 5+ years support experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory Server and Exchange Server
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows Server, Windows Desktop, and some Mac
  • A deep problem solver; able to think on your own and develop quick, sound solutions to complex problems, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The capability to push an equipment cart of approximately 50 pounds
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology or equivalent.
  • Work experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
  • Solid Cloud experience, preferably in AWS
  • A+ Certification
  • CCNA Certification
  • Proven work experience as a desktop support engineer or support technician.
  • Deep Knowledge of scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell/Python
