Essential Functions

Areas of responsibility include; recruiting and staffing, organizational and departmental planning, performance management and improvement, employment and compliance to regulatory concerns regarding associates, associate onboarding , development, needs assessment, and HR related training, policy development and documentation , associate relations, company associate and some community communication, .

  • Oversees and manages the work of reporting Human Resources Generalists. Encourages the ongoing development of the team.

  • Conducts a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep management informed of new developments.

  • Leads the development o f department goals , objectives, and systems.

  • Develops strategic plans for the location in partnership with Corporate Human Resources.

  • Establishes HR departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company's strategic goals .

  • Develops and administers programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.

  • Participates in management and company staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.

  • Applies knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and FHI policies when needed in partnership with Corporate Associate Relations when issues require.

  • Tracks, follows and communicates local and state laws that impact employments and follows all local food and safety guidelines as applicable for all warehouse associates.

  • Builds a talent acquisition strategy by building a local brand in the community and actively managing the talent pipeline.

  • Maintains the utmost confidentiality of the data and information that is entrusted to him/her, ensures team follows the same and educates/coaches' leaders on information disclosure guidelines (ex. HIPAA)

  • Demonstrate safety consciousness and set tone for safe, productive, respectful work environment.

  • Demonstrate understanding of all FHI policies and procedures and other employment issues

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

  • In depth knowledge of legal requirements in functional areas of responsibility to ensure compliance with good employment practices, statutory requirements and FHI standards.

  • Minimum of 5 years hands on HR leadership experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-starter. Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.

  • . Must have valid driver's license and must pass drug screen and consumer background checks.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Preferred qualifications:

  • PHR/SPHR

  • Experience using Workday.
