Job description

The BI Analyst is responsible for defining and driving Management Insight strategy for Argo's business solutions through leadership and collaboration with product owners and executive stakeholders to define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with in-depth mathematical / statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and graphical representation.
EDUCATION:
A completed Bachelor's degree in Mathematical Sciences with emphasis in statistics and probability with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (both cumulative and in major) is required for the position
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of professional work experience within field
- Considerable coursework in probability and descriptive statistics
- Knowledge and experience programming with scripting languages, statistical analysis languages, and SQL.
- Experience with relational database software (MS SQL, Oracle, DB2)
- Experience in commercial software development lifecycle (SDLC) methods
- Knowledge of banking and financial service industry is a plus

EXPECTED WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
- Develop and implement complex models to make systematic business decisions about risk and opportunity, and provide management insight for human-based decisions
- Analyze data relative to key performance indicators and defines insightful measures (statistical and/or derived information) to provide meaningful depth to fully describe the data
- Perform statistical data analysis and interpret results within the context of business and customer objectives
- Provide leadership in the design and development of applications related to forecasting, credit risk analysis, performance analysis, and other mathematics/statistics based business applications
- Directs the design and development of management reporting across product lines
- Define mathematical and statistical methods for use in ARGO's business solutions.
- Perform studies/projects of complex scope, requiring independent development of innovative analytical approaches to resolve issues related to specified products.
- Assist in the development, modification, testing, and support of application and database systems with respect to mathematical algorithms and predictive models.
- Collaborate across business units and multiple product lines
